Apostles and Prophets

I received a very good word today from Brother Al Stoner regarding the rightful place of apostles and prophets. It seems there are so many would-be prophets and apostles today, and so little heed given to the message of the prophets and apostles that God sent. Check out Al's blog:

I took Marianne home to Seattle, babysat Shirlena's children.

One thing about Catholicism is this: it is just ONE thing. Marianne visited Bellingham and was able to immediately step into a Catholic Church and join in mass every day she was here. We Protestants have divided the Church not into just one Protestant church, but hundreds. Every time we move to another place, we spend months looking for a church home. We pray, visit churches, read their statements of faith, see if they have a program for our children, size up the pastor, see if we like the music, stay awhile, discover flaws, try another church. Regardless of what the other defects of the Roman Catholic church may be (and they are many!), it is always so easy for them to find a place to worship wherever they are. I'm wistful about that.
