- Scald one cup of milk.
- Add 6 Tbsps shortening, 6 Tbsps sugar and 2 tsps salt.
- Dissolve 2 pkgs yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
- Cool to lukewarm and add 3 eggs and the yeast.
- Gradually beat in 5-1/2 cups flour.
- Use 1/2 cup of flour to knead and flour your board with.
- Let rise for 1 hour or until double in bulk.
- Divide dough in half and roll out on a floured surface to 1 foot square.
- Spread with softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture (1/2 cup sugar, 1 Tbsp cinnamon).
- Place in greased square pan thatis at least 2" deep.
- Let rise until double in bulk.
- Whip a pint of whipping cream, sugar to taste, add 1/2 tsp vanilla.
- Spread over rolls.
Makes delicious dinner rolls without the cinnamon and cream.
